The Perormer's Toolkit
A Training Experience for Young Actors who want to grow their theatrical skills!
Ages 7yrs and up
Musical theatre relies on a combination of skills in order to put on a good show. Acting, singing, dance, and creativity work together to bring life to the stage and tell an amazing story. The Performer's Toolkit sessions will help young actors, whether new or experienced, grow their skills and expand their toolkit in order to become the best performer they can be!

Sessions and Classes
Each session will last one month (4 weeks). There will be a total of 4 sessions offered.
Classes for each session will be held on Monday nights:
October 2026, November 2026, February 2027, March 2027
Each session offer two classes:
Class 1: 6pm - 7pm for 7yrs and older
Class 2: 7:15pm - 8:15pm for 11yrs and older
*11yrs and older can sign up for both classes to get the most training possible!
Tuition
Each month costs $90 per class slot.
Double Class Discount: Students who are signed up for both class slots in a session will get 10% off!
Payments can be made per session (monthly) or paid for in full if you want to sign up for multiple sessions.
Full Session Discount: If you sign up for all 4 sessions, you will get 15% off!*
*Discounts do not stack, the largest discount takes priority
Session and Class Overview
October (5th, 12th, 19th, 26th)
Class 1: Speak with Distinction
Articulation, pronunciation, rhythm, resonance, clarity, and control. A must for every actor!
Class 2: Character and
Scene Development
Character analysis and in-depth scene work. Don't just play a character, but convince the audience that you are the character.
November (2nd, 9th, 16th, 30th)
Class 1: Dancing in Theatre -
The Basics (Stage 1)
Dancing in theatre is more than just doing the moves. Learn balance, control, turns, leaps, and stage movements while maintaining clear, confident vocals.
Class 2: Improv
Develop spontaneity, confidence, and adaptability. Think on your feet, be creative and make each scene come alive. Improvisation is a learned skill and valuable tool in becoming a great actor!
February (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd)
Class 1: Dancing in Theatre -
The Basics (Stage 2)
Review and build upon essential dance skills while combining steps to compliment the music. Develop musicality, learn to connect movements smoothly, and make your dancing look effortless while still maintaining strong, clear vocals.
Class 2: Breathe It, Feel It, Vocalize It
Develop vocal confidence that enhances stage presence. Connect with the lyrics, express emotion, and expand both the strength and range of your voice.
March (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd)
Class 1: Improv
Whether you started with the November improv class or are just starting out, improv is a constant learning experience! Learn more improv skills through fun games, dramatic exercises, and interactive scenes.
Class 2: Act It, Sing It, Dance It
Become a triple threat performer! In order to truly master the musical theatre stage, you have to put all of the skills together to show of your dancing, singing, and acting at the same time to wow an audience.
Sign Up Requirements
In order to register for classes, you must fill out the following forms: registration form and photo release.
The photo release will need a signature and can be completed on the BYT website. The registration form will be using Google Forms.
All forms need to be submitted in order to sign up and receive an invoice
If payment and requirements are not received by the one week deadline, then registration is null and void.

Amy Bartlett
Amy Bartlett is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts spending four years at the Atlantic Theater with instructors like William H. Macey, Felicity Huffman, Joe Mantegna and more. Trained in the Practical Aesthetics approach to stage performance, created by David Mamet, Amy has taught all ages (K-12 as well as creating an undergraduate program) in unique areas like Edith Skinner’s Speak With

Cynthia Ford
Cynthia Ford is a dedicated educator, choreographer, director, and advocate for the performing arts. She trained for eight years under Patrice Kuttie of the London Ballet Company and continued her studies at Oswego State and Geneseo State where she minored in Theatre and Dance. In 1979, Cynthia founded "A Different Dance Studio", later expanding to the "Impact Creative Arts Center" which she owned and
Distinction and Commedia dell’arte. With off-Broadway credits and vocal performances that range from Carnegie Hall choral groups to the Roseland Ballroom, Amy’s greatest theatrical accomplishment isn’t on the resume: it’s the “ah-ha moment in a young actor who finds their voice, value, and artful self confidence
operated for 35 years before moving to South Carolina and founding "Bluffton Youth Theatre". Throughout her career, Cynthia has directed more than 100 plays and musicals, choreographed for several community theatres and dance companies, and taught thousands of students about the transformative power of the performing arts.
