Rehearsals
Start on Monday, November 3rd
It is important that you are aware of the rehearsal commitments and understand that being a part of the show will not work well for a child that has a lot of other commitments and activities. We will have a section on our registration form to list known absences but we may ask that you withdraw your registration if we believe you don't have the time to commit to this show.
Rehearsals will be held Mondays through Thursdays from 5:30pm to 8:30pm*.
There will be three Friday rehearsals from 5:30pm to 8:30pm* on November 7th, 14th and 21st and two Saturday practices from 10am - 4pm
on November 15th and December 6th.
Please make sure you are aware of the time commitment before signing up your child for this show.
*Actors aged 5yrs - 9yrs old may only have rehearsal until 7pm depending on the role they are given.
When putting on a show, especially with limited time, the commitment and flexibility of the cast is extremely important. We expect our cast to be committed to the show, which is only fair to the directors and other cast members. If you are unable to commit the amount of time required for this show, we ask that you please refrain from signing up and join us for another show!
Show Week

Performances
Friday, December 12th at 7pm
Saturday, December 13th at 2pm and 7pm
Sunday, December 14th at TBA
**Cast members must be able to attend all dress rehearsals and show times in order to be cast in the show
We are considering doing a dinner show on the 21st as well if the cast is available. There will be a question on the registration form asking about the cast member's availability for that date.
Attendance
Dress rehearsals and performances are mandatory. If your child cannot attend any day between December 8th and 14th they will not be able to be a part of our cast.
For rehearsals, any non-sick or non-emergency absences must be communicated at time of registration by correctly filling out the availability section of the Registration Form. If cast members have more than three absences that were not marked on the registration form, then they may be removed from the show - with no refund.
Auditions
For this show, we will be having all auditions done via video. All videos will be due by October 27th at 5pm.
In the video, prospective cast members must state their name and age loudly and clearly before starting their audition. Videos must contain the following in order to be considered:
-
A short monologue
-
A 1 minute song snippet
*We prefer acapella, but if there is an accompaniment, it must not have someone else singing or have music louder than the child.
-
A short choreographed dance
Videos must be filmed in a well lit area where the child can be seen and heard clearly. If an actor is auditioning for a certain role, make sure to consider this when choosing their songs and monologue. You want to show off the range of the actor in their audition!
If any of these are not included, or done incorrectly, the audition may not be considered.
If a parent/guardian fails to attend a parent meeting, the child may not audition and their video will not be considered.
When your registration form is complete and your invoice is paid, we will send you a link to a Google Form in order to upload your audition video.

We will be having callbacks, if necessary, on October 29th and/or 30th at 5:30pm. For more information about callbacks, please refer to the "All About Callbacks" page listed below.

After the audition deadline passes and callbacks have concluded, the casting process begins. We understand that waiting for the cast list is nerve wracking and seeing their role can cause excitement, but also disappointment. We ask that all parents keep a positive attitude and we recommend reading about the casting process below to help better understand why your child got the role they did.

Parent Meetings
As referenced above, attending a parent meeting is mandatory. Once the forms are submitted, you will receive and email with parent meeting information and sign up. Reminder: failure to attend a parent meeting will result in your child's audition video not being considered and they will not be cast.
Parents will have to show up for a parent meeting based on if they are a BYT alumni or not.
For parents who have not been in a BYT production in 2025, the meeting will be Wednesday, October 29th from 7pm - 8pm.
For parents who have been in a BYT production in 2025, the meeting will be Thursday, October 30th from 7pm - 8pm.
